Chadbourn is our newest base, launched this fall as a limited release at Indie Untangled the weekend of Rhinebeck. We’re really excited to FINALLY have Chadbourn back in stock!
Chadbourn is our second non-superwash base. It is also made exclusively for us by the ladies at Echoview Fiber Mill using locally sourced fiber. We took everything you love about Berryhill and added a fourth ply of Black to make it a DK weight marled yarn.
This non-superwash marled yarn is light and airy, but the alpaca gives it a little bit of warmth you're looking for on a chilly day. We love the depth that the ply of black lends to this yarn. We are currently offering this base in three colors, Ice Queen, Fiddlehead, Cranberry Drazzle and also undyed, as Finish Line.
I love Chadbourn by itself for simple sweaters like the No Frills Pullover that I wear on repeat!
Our friend Martha has already turned her Chadbourn into a Coastal Crop.
Chadbourn is SUPER soft, so it will also make great hats. Check out Musselburgh. I recently made one using our Biddleville DK and I LOVE IT!
We love when Chadbourn is combined with Berryhill too! Christen and I have each designed cowls combining Chadbourn with Berryhill. Christen honed in on her love of colorwork and created the Hashtag Chadbourn Cowl and I focused on my love of brioche and a fun little twist I like to put on it and designed the Full Fashioned Cowl.
Ghost Ranch is great for Berryhill, can you imagine how great a Berryhill AND Chadbourn version would be?!?!?
I’ve also been brainstorming about holding Chadbourn and Madison Park Mohair together. The Middle Fork hat would be perfect, or maybe a super warm cadi like Ystava!
