Party Ponies

There is no denying that the past two years have been hard for all of us in one way or another, so when I was planning the club colorway for December I decided I wanted to do something fun and festive to bring a little extra cheer into the coming winter months. The yarn base we used is a twist on a traditional tweed yarn. You have the same look as a tweed yarn, but instead of black speckles this yarn has yellow, pink, blue and green mixed throughout. This is a 85% Superwash Merino, 15% Colored Donegal Nep, DK weight yarn that comes with 246 yds.
With the multi-colored neps, I was struggling to decide what colors would clash with the tweed and what would enhance it without being boring, so after much debate, I decided to lean into the colors of the neps and go a little wild. I created dyes in the same color family as the tweed neps but lighter in shade and gave it my best go at splatter painting. When it was dry, I loved the Party Ponies on a skein look!
