SETUP NOTES:

This shawl is worked over 6 clues, which will be released on the following schedule:

  • Clue 1: December 1, colors 1-6 ✅

  • Clue 2: December 7, color 7

  • Clue 3: December 8, colors 8-15

  • Clue 4: December 16, colors 16-21

  • Clue 5: December 22, color 22

  • Clue 6: December 23, colors 23-24

  • One complete pattern will be available around the new year.

This pattern will work with any arrangement of yarn colors you can even repeat colors

throughout the shawl, though you should not place the same color next to itself.

The original sample was knit with mini skeins arranged to form a gradient.

  • If you are working with the Queen City Advent Box, the mini skein colors are already arranged for you.

  • If you are working with other yarn and would like to knit a gradient shawl, arrange your 24 mini skeins in a gradient. Then take the first mini skein in the gradient and move it to the opposite end of the gradient.

  • If you are working with another mystery advent kit that is already arranged with a gradient, set aside the yarn from Day 1 and save it to the end. Start with Day 2 as your C1, Day 3 as your C2, etc. Your Day 1 that you set aside will become C24 at the end.

You will sometimes stripe colors. Do not cut your yarn unless instructed to do so just carry it up the side.
