When I dyed up this color sample, I wanted watercolor like hues of soft pinks, and salmons speckled with a bold contrast in deep navy. After seeing the finished product, I immediately noticed how very similar in style it was to one of our signature colors called Queen Charlotte. So, I took to Google and discovered that our city’s namesake, Queen Charlotte, was born Princess Sophia and knew that would be the perfect name for this pink version of a favorite colorway.
The watercolor dye style used in this colorway would make a beautiful fade (Queen Charlotte and Mountain Orchard) and is also a fantastic choice for larger garments or pieces you wouldn’t want pooling in, so our pattern suggestions will lean into that. If you’re still in summer mode, The Lone Skein Shawl would be stunning in this colorway, as well as the Nordic Sunrise by Margaret Stauffacher. If fall is more on your mind, I would recommend Spector by Joji Locatelli or the Campside Cardi by Alicia Plummer if you’re working with DK weight. No matter which pattern you choose, this sophisticated colorway is sure to be a stunner!
