Port Royal
Studio Series Shipment March, 2020
This month’s colorway, Port Royal, was inspired by the sunken pirate city at Port Royal, Jamaica. It is said that pirates used Port Royal as their base to raid treasure ships until an earthquake in 1692 pulled it under the Caribbean Sea.
This month’s colorway was dyed on a new to us DK singles yarn. This was our first time dyeing on a singles base and it was so much fun. The yarn took the dye beautifully. The technique we used this month was washes of color, all underwater inspired hues of blues, teals and greens.
