Guardian of Dreams
This gorgeous handpainted colorway was designed with bright fun colors and feelings of joy in mind after the birth of Christen’s niece Lillija, or Lilly for short. Her name, Lillija, is Latvian and was the name of her great grandmother.
We searched for color inspiration from Latvian artists and found an amazing piece of work by Lillija Dinere called the Guardians of Dreams. We were inspired by the layers of color in this piece of work and played with some of the same hues in bringing this colorway to life.
Guardian of Dreams incorporates Weezer and Mint to Be as well as Bless Her Heart, Showgirls and a new orchid-y fuchsia that we can’t get enough of lately. We used speckles to draw out and build on some of the tones in each of those colors. Orchid and fuchsia speckles add depth to the pinky orange section of the skein. Light handed orange speckles provide extra interest in the blue section of the skein. Neon yellow speckles highlight the transition between mint and pink. Christen’s favorite steely blue speckle lightly covers the whole skein.
